How to use your Hard disk (Making partitions) |
When you buy a new Computer with Hard disk. Or only Hard disk you must know how to use it by means of making it partitions.
Example: As a consultant, I come across many users my customers, some of they don't know what is the hard disk in their computer, and some customers they know but they don't know how is it organized. Many times suppliers they prepare systems and supplied.
First Step
Before you start first time using your computer make two partitions of your hard disk, the first partition is for operating system like (Windows ) and applications like (MS office) or any other applications
First Partition is identified as (C: Drive)
Second partition is identified as (D: Drive)
Use Second partition for storing data (your personal data files like MS word Excel Power point , any databases Etc. )
When you are buying system from any suppliers ask them to prepare partitions like this so that it is easy to handle your data carefully and easy to maintain system.
Second Step
All ways keep one copy of your operating system like (windows 95, 98 or >, or XP etc.) with your serial number it is easy to update your system, these days computer is so common to updating with new technology adding like Scanners, Digital Cameras, Printers, many more. On second partition (D: Drive)
And keep copy of drivers for all your devices like (Display, Modem, Soundcard, keyboard, Mouse, Digital Camera, Etc. )
What happens if I don't follow above tips ?
